Sarah completed general nursing training at the Mater Hospital in 1987, then worked both interstate and in Canada for many years. After completing her Graduate Certificate in Critical Care and 12 years working in Intensive Care Units, Sarah switched to general practice in January 2009 and completed her Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management. Personal experience promotes her insight, understanding and passion for diabetes self-management education, with a focus towards promoting healthy active lifestyles to help patients either prevent or manage chronic disease. See “Diabetes Care” tab for full scope of practice, from nutrition advice to insulin pump management and guidance juggling insulin/ food/ blood glucose levels with sport.
Sarah also enjoys family time and actively participating in a variety of sports, especially cycling, jet skiing, wake-boarding, kayaking and snow-boarding. Sarah consults from the practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays. She accepts referrals from other GPs (external to the centre) or you may self-refer for full diabetes management. Her enthusiasm and passion to help people get the most out of their lives through good health is unparalleled.
